Description of the problemDt: the contact owns a 2001 ford f150. The contact stated while driving with the cruise control on the vehicle accelerated at speeds of 90 mph and above, almost causing an accident. While this was occurring one could smell a burning odor, and see smoke coming from under the hood. After this occurred the contact took the vehicle to dealership, and the dealership assured him that they would not touch the vehicle until they ran a diagnostic test and made sure the vehicle was under warranty. The consumer left the vehicle at the dealership, and when he returned he found that the dealership blew up the engine. This happened when the dealership attempted to start the vehicle because of the cruise control still activated which caused the engine to blowout. The dealership did not want to replace the engine because later found out that the vehicle was no longer under warranty. Contacted the manufacturer, and the manufacturer hung up on him. *ak
