Description of the problem | I was coming home from work when the gas pedal was really stiff so i stepped down harder and the gas stuck wide open. I had to use my brakes until i could get it to slow down as i was at the top of a large hill. I tried putting it into netral but the rpms went to 6. I just about burnt my brand new brakes up. I slowed it down as much as i could and then put it into neutral and shut it off immediately. My husband then opened the hood and noticed the cable was stuck and wrapped up in the assembly. Once loose the accelerator returned to normal. It was absolutely terrifying as i nearly wrecked the truck going down the hill with the brake pedal pushed to the floor and my anti-lock brakes clicking the whole time.*ak |
