Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2001 ford f-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was slowing down to stop, the engine rpms would increase, the gear engaged and the vehicle lunged forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was defective and needed to be replaced. The remedy did not repair the failure. The failure recurred at 11,000 miles and the dealer stated that the transmission was defective and needed to be replaced again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred him to nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 48,000. |
