Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2001 ford f-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he noticed a fuel spill. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who performed a diagnostic that located the failure as the rear fuel tank strap being corroded and caused a hole on the fuel tank. The fuel tank and straps were replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The manufacturer denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle because the fuel tank did not detach. The failure mileage was 101,340 and the current mileage was 102,000. |
