Description of the problemBoth front and rear fuel tank straps are broke. Tank is being held up by fuel line in rear. Front strap being held on by plastic cover only. In the process of repairing now at a ford dealership. Parts cost is approx. $80, labor is still not calculated. The consumer stated both strap broke in the middle due to severe rust; the rear more than the front. The fuel line was still in good shape. It was supporting the rear tank after the strap broke. The tank never hit the ground. While both straps were rusted out completely in the middle, there was a piece of plastic between the strap and the tank. The plastic was molded around the straps well enough that the front of the tank was supported by the plastic piece even though the metal strap had rusted away. However, the back strap had rusted away to a point that the strap fell and the tank was only being supported by the fuel line. Updated 09/21/11
