Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2001 ford f-150. The contact stated that while driving, the fuel tank dropped from its housing as a result of one of the straps fracturing. The fuel tank was dragged and caused a hole, which caused fuel to leak from the tank. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop who advised that the fuel straps had failed because of corrosion and that both the fuel straps and the fuel tank would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 240,000. |
