Description of the problem | My 2001 ford f150 blew a spark plug right out of the aluminum head on 8-17-08. Vehicle had about 90,000 miles on it. It is a common and repeating failure of the 5. 4l v-8 engine and ford will not acknowledge it as a problem. I opted for the helicoil replacement option ($640) over a complete new head ($3000). Ford will not pay for any of this even though it is their design flaw. Later models have been changed to correct this problem. If it was not a problem then why was it corrected? |
