Description of the problem | In 2015 while living in north dakota i purchased a 2015 ford expedition el. In 2018 i moved to florida and had new tires installed in 2019. Now, 5,000 miles later i am told the lug nuts are swollen and my tires cannot be rotated, i need to buy new lug nuts. I was shocked and never heard of this, i stopped in the local ford dealer and was told this is true, ford decided to put these two piece lug nuts on new vehicles, "we have seen this a lot". I ask if there was a recall and was told "i wish". The dealership suggested i shop at an auto parts store because "ours are pretty pricey at $8 a piece, it will be costly if you need to replace lug nuts on all 4 wheels". I called ford corporate in detroit and was transferred to a call center in the philippines were the female could only read from a script stating "this problem is not covered by the manufactures warranty." |
