Description of the problem1/28/17 driving 65 mph on a florida highway (not on cruise control) the throttle/gas peddle sensor (throttle body) shuts off the gas to the engine and the car slows to a stop. This is in the middle of traffic. We manage to pull to the side of the highway, turn the car off and on and the problem disappears for another 50 miles we drive the car to a ford dealer and they replace the throttle body for $500. I am . Out of warranty = over 36,000 miles i tell my story to 2 st louis friends, also own fords (2006 explorer, 2008 edge) and they say that they have had the same experience and necessary repair. I just notified ford customer service 800-392-3673 and they say that they do not have a recall or issue with this problem. This is a very dangerous situation and has been ignored by ford for years. I also owned a toyota during their sudden acceleration problem a few years ago and this seems worse
