Description of the problem | My 2002 ford expedition 4x4, 5. 3l engine with 71k miles had the #3 spark plug became dislodged as i was driving on the highway at ~65 mph. Turns out the threads on the cylinder head are stripped. My car had to be towed to the dealer and is awaiting being fixed. If i choose to have the cylinder head replaced, it will cost ~$3000. I've read other articles and complaints on the internet that lead me to believe there are thousands of people who've experienced the same thing with their ford trucks. I believe there is sufficient data to suggest ford should do a recall on these trucks for this problem. *jb |
