Description of the problem	Ford recall 17s16; nhtsa campaign 17v427. The recall letter, dated july 10, 2017 under the signature of michael a. Berardi subject: new vehicle demonstration/delivery hold instructs the dealers to not demonstrate or sell affected vehicles until repairs have been made. I purchased this vehicle at bill pierre ford, seattle, on august 19, 2017 after locating it myself at epic ford, everett, washington. . No mention was made of this recall and i found out about it in early october when i changed the mycarfax smart phone app to this vin number. A. The vehicle should have been flagged by ford. B. It should not have been sold to me prior to repair. C. I, and my passengers were exposed to possible dangerous circumstances up to death had this torque converter failed and engine power was lost at high speeds. D. I have never received a recall notice from ford. I worked with bill pierre service department to get this repair done. It took a month to get the parts and get the vehicle repaired. The july 10 letter notes federal law requires the repairs be made before sale with a violation up to $21000. I do not know if this failure was administrative or willful malfeasance, but the exposure to hazardous circumstances is despicable. The ford. Oemdtc. Com site no longer shows 17s16, i have a paper copy.
