Description of the problem | Frst noticed in november the car would not generate heat while at idle. This prevented defrosting of windshield. Noticed heat would return at higher revs, but this also decreased. Noticed fluid level was low added antifreeze and heat returned somewhat but not at idle. Car has 36,200 miles, just off warranty. This is an obvious safety hazard since drivingin winter requires a functioning defroster. Local mechanic noted that check engine light for misfire of cylinder #1 indicated a head gasket leak which was where my coolant was disappearing. There are no signs of outward leaks, or a oder of coolant in the cabin from the heat core. It is now january, and i cannot drive the car due to lack of heat and risk of damage to the engine. Emailed my dealer, but as of yet no response. |
