Description of the problem	2017 ford edge with the 2. 0l engine failed at 73,143 miles due to coolant in the cylinders. Original code was a p0301 for miss in cylinder number one. Replaced plugs and coils with oe from dealer and problem persisted. Check engine light on and engine vibration occurred while running at idle. There was no smoke ever from the exhaust. Took the vehicle to the ford dealer and they noted low coolant even though there was never an overheat issue, check engine light or code stored. Dealer referenced tsb 19-2346 and said engine would have to be replaced and since there was no recall ford would assume zero cost. Still owing money on the car there was no other option other than replace the engine at a cost of $7000. Given what appears to be the frequency of this specific failure coupled with the wide range of miles when it occurs ford should step up and at least partner with owners to help with the cost of engine replacement. This issue could cause the vehicle to stall which could lead to an accident or fatality depending upon when the engine stalled or went into limp mode.
