Description of the problem | 2017 ford edge with 65,000 miles. Engine light came on for a day and then went off for about a week until it appeared again. Car started rough for about 2 days( like a cold morning) and then ran fine. Battery failed, during replacement turned car on to make sure battery working fine and white smoke poured out of exhaust pipe . Had car towed to my auto repair shop. Cylinder #2 failure. Coolant leaked into engine. Engine has to be replaced. It's a 2l engine. Ford has no recall for this issue but has had a multitude of problems with this. The edge was my first ford car, terribly disappointing and now i am expected to pay out of pocket for the new engine which will run about $8k-$9k. Ford needs to step up soon. |
