Description of the problem | My vehicle is a 2017 with 87,000 miles. Check engine light came on, cylinder #2 misfiring, ford said i am experiencing a similar issue they are having with these motors where there are hairline cracks in the long block leaking coolant into the combustion chamber and that i will need a new engine. Ford is saying it is only a bulletin and not a recall so i am having to pay for a new motor out of pocket for a design flaw in the engine. I am a recent college grad and was not expecting to pay $9,000 for a new motor on a relatively new vehicle on top of my student debt. I expected a few more reliable years with this vehicle and cannot risk having the engine go out while driving so i will have to try and get another vehicle since their is no recall for this known issue that they've redesigned the newer motors to account for this. |
