Description of the problem | Engine: 2. 0 ecoboost mileage: 61800 check engine light came on, error p0302 showed up. Oem spark plugs are placed in, along with a set of new coil packs. Cel was still on, ran a compression test and saw coolant being squirted out of cyl 2, signifying either a cracked head, or blown head gasket. Contacted ford, who referred me to the local dealer, went into dealer and was quoted $200 for just the "diagnostic." made me aware that ford may require a tear down before even extending assistance in the repair. Since vehicle was out of warranty period i was quoted $4400 for tear down. Vehicle was not repaired. |
