Description of the problem | Vehicle was parked and off. We loaded all luggage into the car and closed the doors. Both keys were in the diaper bag. The automatic door locks engaged and we had no way to get into our car or call for help, as our phones were in the car. This type of door lock does not require you to push the fob button. You just have to touch the door handle while keys are in your possession. But the car is not supposed to lock if the key is within the vehicle. We had to call aaa to get the door unlocked. Fortunately our infant and dogs had not been loaded yet. This is the second time the locks have engaged in their own while the key is in the car. Also of note; the doors display a small red led when locked normally. The red light was not illuminated when this happened, which makes me believe there was an electrical issue/malfunction. |
