Description of the problem | Vehicle is a 2015 edge, purchased new as a leftover in feb of 2017. Jan/feb of 2018 with approximately 15,000 miles on the vehicle, the front panoramic sunroof glass cracked spontaneously, followed shortly after by the rear glass panel on another day. Cracks were wavy and did not appear to be caused by an impact. Ford dealer would not warranty because their "pen test" of dragging a pen along the line of the crack found a pinhead "impact" mark. Had to replace both panels thru insurance company via a specialty third party capable of replacing the urethane on the rear panel. Unknown if the vehicle was moving or stationary or when/where exactly the cracking occurred. |
