Description of the problem | As i was driving to work, my vehicle stalled on the highway. Without any check engine light or sounds the gas pedal didn't have anything to it, it just went all the way down and then died. The engine would turn, but it's as if gas wasn't getting to the engine and it wouldn't start. I tried a couple times to start it, no success. Still no warning lights. As the tow company was on the way, about 20 minutes later, i tried again and it started. As if nothing was wrong. No vehicles were behind me to hit me when it died and i was able to steer to the shoulder. I went to ford service later on and i was told that since none of the warning lights came on there more than likely is not a code to diagnose the problem, but it sounds like the fuel pump. I now drive the vehicle hoping it doesn't happen again. There is a recall on 2013 ford edge fuel system, but mine is not one to be recalled. |
