Description of the problem | 2013 ford edge 3. 5l v6 sel the door ajar warning comes on even when the door is completely closed. This causes the interior lights to come on randomly, even while driving at night (mostly 2 lane country roads). I have to stand outside the vehicle when i am done driving and open and shut the door anywhere from 10-20 times before it goes off. This has drained at least 2 batteries by randomly coming on in the middle of the night. I have replaced the switch, the entire lock system twice now. The dealer wants $500 to fix. I can't afford to pay $500 every few months for a bad design by ford. This is obviously a known issue and has been for quite sometime. Just about every edge owner has had to deal with this. Ford needs to come up with the proper fix for all doors and at their expense. The consumer is getting ripped off by ford with this issue. |
