Description of the problem | The instrument panel contrast is inadequate in my 2009 ford edge. The gray background does not provide adequate contrast in many daylight situations to allow safe review of speed along with fuel level, engine temp, and rpm. The primary concern is that the driver must turn attention from the road to try to read the gauges in daylight conditions thus creating a potentially unsafe operating condition. I have reported the problem to ford and my local dealer. The local dealer has indicated that he has received other complaints about this condition, but at this time there is no resolution offered by ford. Ford indicates this vehicle operates within the specifications for make/'model. The night time readability is good. This is only a daylight issue under differing levels of ambient light. |
