Description of the problem | 2009 ford edge awd 80k miles strong gas smell and evidence of leak seen in driveway prompted visit to mechanic. Leak discovered coming from corroded seam of fuel tank on passenger side. No check engine light ever alerted me that there was a problem. Internet search revealed fuel tank recall of 128,000 ford edge and lincoln mkx cars built at oakville assembly plant between september 1th, 2008 through july 1st, 2010. My car was built at that plant at that time but i was never informed of the recall.(fomoco recall number: 15s31) i called ford and they said my car was not included in the recall. |
