Description of the problem | This is in regards to a 2008 dodge nitro rt. When filling the vehicle with gas, several ounces of fuel will spray out if the gas tank inlet and on to the ground. This occurs when the spout clicks to end the fuel flow when the tank is full. I leave the ignition in the on position so that i can monitor the fuel as it becomes full. The engine is not running. I do this so i can stop the fuel flow before it sprays out. This has happened to me several times at different stations and it is definitely a safety/fire hazard. I have read several accounts on the web regarding these same occurrences. From what i have read there are no safety recalls regarding this problem. |
