Description of the problem | While driving on u. S. 84 highway in alabama i noticed the engine making a strange noise and pulled over to the side of the road. I could then see smoke coming from under the hood, when i opened the hood i could see at the base of the engine orange flames. Used water bottles on hand to put out the fire. After my insurance company sent out inspectors it was found that wiring to the oxygen sensor had shorted out causing the fire. Inspectors believe it was faulty wiring that caused the fire. Contacted chrysler and they denied any responsibility. |
