Description of the problem | I was attempting to drive out of the driveway and put the car in reverse. The car would not go. I ensured that the safety brake was not set and that the car was indeed in reverse. The car was in reverse and the safety brake was not set. I gave the car a little extra acceleration and it felt like i ran over something. I learned that the rear brakes seized. I'm not sure, but i believe that this can compromise the braking ability of the car. It appears that there is an indentation in the rotors from where the brake pads 'set.' i had a similar problem with the car when the mileage was between 3,000 to 5,000 miles and the dealership replaced the rear pads/rotors. |
