Description of the problem | I received a recall notice in june 2017 regarding an alternator issue on my 2013 dodge durango. It is now november 2017 and there is still no remedy. My battery light came on this morning after driving for less than five minutes in a 30 mph zone. I have an infant daughter so i cannot risk any battery issues in the dead of winter in upstate new york. It has been nearly six months since the recall was issued with no remedy available. The risks include heat/smoke or even fire within the alternator. Six months seems like a ridiculous amount of time for a repair of this magnitude to be not be resolved. I will have the alternator replaced and submit for a reimbursement but i shouldn't have to go through that process and incur those kinds of expenses so close to the holiday season when they've had six months to react to the situation. |
