Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge durango. While driving approximately 30 mph, all the warning indicators suddenly illuminated and the vehicle stalled. Smoke began to fill up the cabin from the vents inside the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to kendall dodge, chrysler, jeep, ram in miami, fl where it was diagnosed that the alternator, pcm, and battery failed due to an internal short and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was related to nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v634000 (electrical system) and 17v435000 (electrical system); however, the vin was excluded from both recalls. The manufacturer opened case number: 32173838 and stated they would be able to offer little assistance regarding the repair separate from the recalls. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. |
