Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge durango. While driving 55 mph, the seat belt warning indicator illuminated and the windshield wiper blades started operating without warning. The vehicle lost power and stalled. The contact was unable to remove the key from the ignition. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The contact called scott evans chrysler dodge jeep ram at (770) 834-5050 and was advised to replace the battery. The battery was replaced and when the contact attempted to start the vehicle, smoke was seen coming from the alternator. The vehicle was turned off and the battery was disconnected. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they would send out an investigator. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer for the chrysler investigator to inspect the vehicle. The contact was informed by the investigator that there was no sign of a fire and the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was then towed to university chrysler, dodge, jeep, ram of rome (2500 new calhoun hwy ne, rome, ga 30161 (706) 232-7793) where it was diagnosed with a faulty alternator that needed replacement. The alternator was replaced, but the vehicle was still unable to start. The vehicle was then diagnosed with a burnt out totally integrated power module due to the alternator and needed replacement. The vehicle was still at the dealer for repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
