Description of the problem | While driving my car home from work on 5/15/2017, i smelled smoke and started to hear a squealing from the engine area. I thought it might be one of the pully bearings, but when i pulled over and opened the hood, i found smoke coming out of the alternator, right after that flames came out of it too. I ran into the closest store and asked for the fire extinguisher and put out the fire before it spread. I'm calling chrysler about the p60 recall which covers the alternator being defective. 800-423-6343. Case # 31638569 they are sending someone out to take a look at the alternator. |
