Description of the problem | Driving on 40 mph road when battery warning light came on and car produced burning smell from engine compartment. Alternator needed replaced. Replacing alternator fixed problem. Car is an sxt model which has a different alternator than the se. Sxt alternators have not been recalled yet to the best of my knowledge.
