Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge charger. The contact stated that the sensor had illuminated for the traction control and battery saver mode intermittently. The contact experienced the vehicle shutting off and going into battery safe mode repeatedly. The contact had to recharge the battery to get the vehicle to restart on several occasions. The radio had shut off each time the vehicle went into battery safe mode. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who replaced the alternator and the battery. The failure recurred with the battery safe mode sensor and traction control sensor illuminating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the alternator was not charging which may indicate it was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. |
