Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2010 dodge challenger. The contact stated that while entering the interstate at approximately 65 mph, the vehicle began to speed up to approximately 90 mph. He applied pressure to the accelerator pedal and then the brake pedal in order to slow the vehicle down. He drove onto the emergency lane and turned the vehicle off. When he restarted the vehicle, the rpms increased excessively. He turned the vehicle off, manually pulled the accelerator pedal up, and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle began to function normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the failure was mechanical. The dealer replaced the accelerator pedal, reset the computer and reset the sensor. The contact had not experienced any failures after the repairs were made. The current mileage was approximately 3,000. The failure mileage was approximately 2,290. |
