Description of the problem | car would not shift out of park. Dealer notified; vehicle towed to dealer; diagnosed as "faulty" shifter assembly. Dealer replaced at a cost of $ 361. 00; towing fee $ 106. 00. Dealer advised a common issue, but not covered under recall due to assembly location and not manufactured in 2007 or later, which would be covered by recall. How can this be such a common problem that the dealer; towing company blog sites, internet and after amrket companies manufacture corrective parts, but chrysler remains silent. Maybe i should contact clint eastwood. Other than this issue at 99,523 miles, vehicle has been satisfactory; currently has over 106,000 miles. |
