Description of the problem | When i started 2006 chrysler 300 and attempted to put in gear, the gear shifter would not work. The vehicle was stuck in park. I had to have vehicle towed to dealership and they had to replace the transmission shifter assembly. I had to pay for towing ($130. 40), rental car($86. 00), and to replace the shifter assembly($249. 18)! The service rep said to keep receipt because this was a big problem with that particular model and this should be a recall repair. But not at that time. The car had 40,556 miles on it when this incedent happened. |
