Description of the problem	Upon starting car (2006 chrysler 300), would not shift out of "park". Attempted multiple times. Tow truck had to be called. Tow truck driver stated that this happens a lot with this model car. While en route, recommended removal of the panel around the shifter where there is a release-type mechanism. Multiple attempts did not release shifter. Tow truck driver arrived at scene and eventually released car into neutral. He said that as long as we did not place into park, we should be able to drive the car home. Decision was made to tow car home due to the remote location of stranded car and late hour. Will be contacting dealership in morning.
