Description of the problem7/16/2010 i parked on the street in front of my house. I turned the car off and decided i wanted to park closer to the curb. I turned the car on and it would not shift out of park. I had the car towed on 7/18/2010. The tow truck driver said he knew exactly what was wrong with the car, and that in the last 2 weeks he had towed close to 20 chrysler brand vehicles with the same problem. The shifters are having to be replaced, because of a broken part. I was fortunate i was at home and had already parked. Needless to say i have to pay to have the car repaired $350 for parts and labor. I'm grateful it didn't happen in a different gear, in traffic and on the high way. The dealer will start work on my chrysler 300 tomorrow and it is my intention to inquire about the old part.
