Description of the problem | The vehicle began repeatedly stalling after being filled with gas and at low speeds. This went on for months. My son had the vehicle in another town and when he returned to our house we took it to our mechanic who diagnosed a fuel valve problem. We then took it to the poway chrysler dealer who agreed with the diagnosis. They said it was a fuel tank vent valve failure causing fuel to be sucked up into intake purge line. Excessive fuel was seen by the powertrain control module and they proceeded to repair the problem by installing a new fuel tank. Although this is apparently a well documented problem in 2006 chrysler 300s, my car was not covered in a recent decision by chrysler to extend the fuel tank warranty. |
