Description of the problem | My wife was driving home at night from the store in a residential street and car all of a sudden accelerated on its own. Wife tried hard to apply the brakes but car would not slow down. She tried hard to control car to avoid poles and trees and hit hard in ditch. Air bags failed to deploy. Wife suffered contusions and bruises. Car was considered a total loss by insurance company. Tried to notify manufacturer to report the failure and just kept getting a run around from them. Apparently they do not stand behind their products. I see several other complaints on this same issue but no recall was ever issued. |
