Description of the problem | My daughter was driving the chevy trax when the engine light came on. I scanned the car when she got home. Code was p0420 for low converter efficiency. I put the car up on my car lift and found that the flex pipe behind the converter was separated most likely from rust. This is allowing exhaust gasses into the car and it is dangerous. This is happening on many chevy trax and chevy cruz vehicles. I took it to the dealer and they will not cover the repair. She has owned it 4. 5 years and has only 28,000 miles on it. We purchased a major guard warranty from gm when we bought the car but they denied the repair. This is a safety issue. The paint is also peeling off of the hood but they say that is not covered either even though this is happening to many gm cars. |
