Description of the problem	My vehicle has the check engine light on and is throwing dtc code p0008 which is caused by premature wear of the timing chain(s). This seems to be a well known issue and in fact the same engine has a "special warranty" on the 2009 traverse and several other lambda platform vehicles prior to 2010. This is the same engine. The special warranty currently in place on the older models is 11340-c. This condition could lead to a catastrophic failure of the engine and strand the vehicle - possibly in a dangerous place without the ability to move it.
