Description of the problem	On friday may 23, 2014, i was backing an empty boat trailer down my private boat launch with my new 2014 chevrolet silverado 1500 pickup. When i put the transmission into reverse with my foot on the brake the engine suddenly revved up, started spinning wheels, and shot down the ramp hitting three bulkhead pilings eight feet apart, finally wedging the truck into the last piling and stopping before going into the water. The incident lasted less than five seconds and my foot never left the brake as witnessed by a third party verifying the brake lights never went off. I feel obligated to report this to both chevrolet and the national highway traffic safety administration. Had this occurred in a public parking area, serious injuries and damage to other vehicles could have resulted. An insurance claim has been made, and after repairs have been completed, the vehicle will be taken to my chevrolet dealer for analysis for possible defects.
