Description of the problemOn my way home pulling a 5000 lbs boat and trailer on a public highway and suddenly my brakes get hard as a rock and loose the ability to basically stop with any quick response. After limping the truck a short distance to a friends business i learn this truck has a brake power assist pump???????????? Call me old fashion but the vacuum usually comes from the intake manifold, not a rinky dink pump with a belt to drive it. Totally unsafe in my opinion. Something as important as brakes to be relied on a rubber band and a 5 dollar china bearing. I feel this is a poor and unsafe design and could easily been avoided. Now comes the enjoyment of having it repaired and only a dealer available part. Truck just turned 50k and my dealership is telling me this item is not. Covered under warranty.
