Description of the problem | All 5 brake lines are badly corroded, 2 were leaking. Filled the reservoir, and drove it to local shop for repair, {about 2 miles}, using what little brake i had, {pedal on the floor}, and emergency brakes. Could have been very serious and was very expensive to get fixed. Talked to local chevy dealer who told me they replace brake lines on customers cars and trucks almost every day. Gm will not do recall because problem is localized to the "salt area" of north eastern united states. But gm does state that vehicle should stop without fluid. That is not true! |
