Description of the problem | My wife and i were leaving home to go in to town to pick up some items with the truck. When approaching the roadway she applied the foot brake, the brake pedal went to the floor, there was no stopping. The emergency mechanical brake was used so we would not get hit. After getting out and seeing fluid drip, i opened the hood to find a cracked and rusted brake line that was leaking a large amount of brake fluid. Researching this vehicle it seems this is a common problem with this vehicle, nothing has been done about it. This truck spent many years in wisconsin before we located last fall to washington state. It seems to me that a recall needs to be done for this failure does not continue to happen. Brake failure is a very serious issue. |
