Description of the problem | Engine block heater: heater cord was unwrapped from factory wrap under hood cord was plugged into standard 110 volt temperature was at or around 15 degrees f cord was left plugged in for approximately 2 to 3 hours upon return, cord had a burt smell and had melted around the plug cord was unplugged. Cord was tried at a later date, with temp around 0 degrees f cord plug started smoking as soon as plugged in plug was immediately unplugged plug needs to be replaced (has not been done as of this report). |
