Description of the problem | The speedometer is erratic, displaying 40, 50, 80 mph running, sitting still in park. Then will peg to 130 mph when driven. Later, it will eventually correct itself after cranking 4, 5, 8 times and work properly temporarily. Then repeat. This is a common, known problem with these gauge clusters and chevrolet div. Refuses to fix at no cost because the truck is outside the timeframe stated in "special policy # 07187", but it meets the mileage and vin criteria. To the best of my knowledge, the truck did not fail during the stated timeframe. Cost of the repair is $560 and i believe chevrolet should fix it at no cost to the owner. |
