Description of the problem | This vehicle exhibits the exact same issues noted in bulletin #12313b, which affects the 2010 and 2011 2. 4l equinox. Over the last several months the engine became increasingly louder. A large amount of fuel was discovered in the crankcase. The dealer replaced the timing chain assembly and the high pressure fuel pump as outlined in bulletin #12313b, but the 2012 model year is not included under the special coverage of 10 years, 120k miles, as outlined in the bulletin. This special coverage should be extended to later model chevrolet equinox 2. 4l engines. The coverage is a necessity due to the wear that has occurred from fuel being in the oil. |
