Description of the problem | Power assist failed, making steering difficult, happened during lane change on freeway at 70 mph, this happened in conjunction with random screen loss on infotainment screen. Also random error messages. Upon taking car to dealer, they agreed it was probably an issue addressed under special coverage 14311, but it turned out that it was not. My 24 yr old daughter was driving , i am thankful she survived, no one should experience loss of power steering, especially on the freeway. Oddly i ended up paying out of my pocket for a new battery and a pos and a neg cable. It would appear that gm should alert more owners of this issue than they have so far, to prevent further deaths. |
