Description of the problem | When driving my 2015 chevy cruze down the highway i noticed that the temperature of the car was going up past the normal point and that the heater was no longer working. About 5 minutes later the display said "a/c turned off due to excessive engine heat" and then the car proceeded to go into "limp" mode where it could no longer be driven and told me to pull over and allow it to idle. After a minute or two with the engine temperature not going down, i turned off the car and had it towed to a gm certified mechanic who reported that the water pump had gone out and that the car had been leaking coolant. |
