Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. While driving less than 5 mph, the accelerator pedal fractured without warning. The vehicle surged forward and crashed into a tree. The vehicle was coasted back onto the street and parked. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who indicated that the driver side floormat caused the failure. The contact noticed that the pedal was plastic and randomly detached, which was not associated with the floormat. The dealer replaced the accelerator pedal.
